Abstract

his study aims to explore how science and technology can aid in achieving sustainable urban development. It evaluates how technological advancements can improve resource management, urban resilience, and energy efficiency. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study combined qualitative case studies of urban sustainability initiatives with quantitative analysis of data on resource consumption and energy consumption. Information was gathered from a variety of sources, such as city reports, sustainability performance metrics, and conversations with technology specialists and urban planners. To gain a deeper understanding of how technological innovations support sustainable urban development, the study incorporated the principles of sustainability theory. To advance sustainable practices, it highlights the significance of interdisciplinary collaboration, financial incentives, and supportive policy frameworks. Results show that energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions are significantly reduced in cities that use advanced building materials and renewable energy sources. It has been demonstrated that smart city technologies enhance urban management and resource efficiency, and sustainable transportation options help to lessen emissions and traffic jams. To create more livable and environmentally friendly urban areas, the research promotes the use of advanced building materials, integrated renewable energy, smart city technologies, and sustainable transportation options. The report also highlights the implementation of climate resilience strategies, the adoption of circular economy ideas, and ongoing assessment and monitoring of sustainability projects. Cities can mitigate their harmful impact on the environment, promote social justice, and build sustainable urban spaces for future generations by implementing these recommendations.
