Abstract

This study is a comparative analysis of employee’s job satisfaction and motivational factors in public vs private organization in south east. Four research objective, research questions and hypotheses were formulated. This is to ensure that the study examined the level of relation between the variables of motivational factors which are job security and fair compensation and the variables of employee job satisfaction which are turnover rate and absenteeism. In achieving this data were generated from the primary source as the questionnaire was the major instrument used to generate the data. The researcher used correlation analysis method which includes Spearman Rank correlation coefficient statistical technique to test the research hypotheses. The purpose of correlation analysis was to find out the significant relationship of the independent variables on dependent variables and how the independent variables may predict the dependent variables respectively. Statistical packages such as Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS 25) and was employed for analyzing the data. The findings showed that there is a significant relationship between motivational factors and employee job satisfaction in both private and public organizations. Based on the findings, the study recommends among others that management of these organizations should intensify more effort towards provision of fair compensation in private organization as it enhances their job satisfaction.
