Data were analyzed using percentage, mean and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (PPMCC) at 0.05 level of significance through Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS version 21.0). The study discovered that NGOs significantly enhance environmental protection in selected local government areas in Imo State; there is relationship between NGOs and health care service delivery in selected local government areas in Imo State; and there is significant role of NGOs in educational development in selected local government areas in Imo State. The work concludes that NGOs can play important role in the process of mobilization of population, and support such as educating the rural people, providing training, health care, environmental protection/advocacy, disseminating information, mobilizing resources, promoting rural leadership, introducing innovations, ensuring people’s participation, promoting appropriate technology and activating the rural delivery system. It was recommended that NGOs should play more active roles in sensitization of the people on environmental protection, sanitation, and maintenance. More so, there is need for the government and private individuals and organizations to give all round support to NGOs so that they can play active roles on provision of health care services and educational development to the people in different communities.
